PD Level: Medium.  Please note the magic of these trips is the time you spend with fellow educators on your trip engaged in ORGANIC PD, so you really get out of it what you put into it. Because this trip has, lectures from a professional archaeologist and discussion with educators, it is considered a Medium Level PD.  

Professional Development Certificate- All Participants will receive a certificate for 20+ professional development hours. 

Graduate Credits- In addition, we have partnered with an accredited university to allow participants to earn 1 graduate credit for an additional $100 or 3 graduate credits for an additional $300.

Upon arrival to Cairo airport you’ll be met and assisted by Egypt Unlimited Tours. A representative at the Cairo airport, who will help you to go through the security area, luggage claim and customs. Then our representative will be escorting you to your Hotel in Cairo.

Saqqara

Start your day by visiting Saqqara, the necropolis of Memphis and home of the Step Pyramid, the first limestone structure that was ever built. Explore its 4350 year old colored tombs. Go inside a pyramid and see the ancient Hieroglyphics engraved on its walls thousands of years ago. Your tour will include a special entry to one of the recent discovered tombs in Saqqara.

Giza Pyramids

Your tour will start with a visit to: Giza Pyramids: You will visit the pyramids and Giza Plateau, located on the outskirts of Cairo, and considered amongst the seven Wonders of the World. The Great Pyramids are over 4500 years old, and are massive in size, with some of the blocks weighing in excess of two and a half tons each.

Cross the desert to stop near one of the unique archeology signs at Great Siwa Mountain, where the first human footprint above the mountain, dates to the pre-history era.

Continue our Safari tour between the dunes until we arrive at the fossils area and see the rocky coral reefs, which date to the Cambrian era.

Then drive to one of the spring eyes in the middle of the desert (Shiata Lake) and it is a good chance to watch the Flamenco birds and swim in the cold spring and enjoy the bath and relaxing atmosphere.
